HOSPITALS
There are too many hospitals to go into all of them individually, but the following details the largest hospitals in the region that are here to service the community and keep it healthy.

The only full-service and obstetrical hospital in Antelope Valley, the Antelope Valley Hospital (AVH) in Lancaster is a 420-bed acute care hospital. Established in 1955 and accredited by The Joint Commission, AVH employs more than 2,000 employees that include a dedicated medical staff and helpful and highly skilled volunteers that serve thousands of satisfied patients. The hospital’s widely respected Maternal Child Health Department includes a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Continuing Care Nursery, Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics and Newborn Nursery services.

The Brotman Medical Center in Culver City began as an eight-bed clinic more than 80 years ago and has grown into a 420-bed facility serving the Culver City and West Los Angeles communities. Brotman recently received recognition from DNV Healthcare, Inc. for its efforts, offering a range of inpatient and outpatient services as well as rehabilitation, psychiatric care and chemical dependency treatment. Brotman also offer a 24-hour emergency room staffed by board certified emergency physicians and nurse specialists.

The 896-bed Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is known for providing the highest quality patient care. Community Hospital Long Beach, part of the MemorialCare Health System, has been providing warm and personalized top-quality medical care since first opening its doors in 1924. Serving the greater Long Beach area with 24-hour emergency services and intensive care, Community Hospital Long Beach offers state-of-the-art imaging, a comprehensive cancer care center, cardiovascular diagnostics, behavioral health, women’s heart screenings, occupational medicine, wellness and diabetes services and more.

Helping to keep Glendale healthy has been the focus of Glendale Adventist Medical Center since being opened by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1905. Today, the 515-bed medical center including a new patient tower is part of Adventist Health—a health system that includes 19 hospitals and a number of other health care organizations in California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. Glendale Adventist Medical Center is committed to offering services that positions it as one of the leading medical institutions in Southern California. A true center of medical science, the medical center offers state-of-art diagnostic technologies, including advanced MRI and CT scanning; innovative surgical techniques, the latest advancements and alternatives to traditional surgery; and advanced capabilities that enhance services.

Good Samaritan Hospital-Los Angeles is a world-class academic medical center affiliated with the University of Southern California and University of California, Los Angeles Schools of Medicine. Good Samaritan has 408 licensed beds and offers outstanding diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic care in a state-of-the-art setting. Good Samaritan supports eight Centers of Excellence that focus on advancing the science of medicine while providing outstanding patient care. An acclaimed oncology program offers a range of options for gynecological, breast, brain and prostate cancers. Each year, Good Samaritan admits approximately 17,000 patients (excluding newborns) and handles more than 93,500 outpatient visits. More than 4,000 deliveries and 8,000 surgeries are performed annually in 18 surgical suites. Reflecting both Los Angeles’ multicultural population and its international reputation and patient base, Good Samaritan employs more than 1,500 employees and has approximately 600 physicians on staff, which altogether speak more than 54 languages and dialects.
